After School Programs

After School Enrichment Programs

A number of enrichment programs are held after school throughout the school year.  These programs usually run 6 to 8 weeks, one day per week.  For a nominal fee, students can explore writing, studies in science, art or take a closer look at current events.  For more information, contact school office 312.842.7668.

  • Creating Masterpieces -- an art class that allows students to explore different artists throughout the ages.  Students create a range of art projects using a variety of mediums such as oil pastels, painting with temperas and watercolors as well as different techniques such as paper cutting.

  • Poetic Writing -- a creative writing class which enlightens young minds about the world of poetry.  Students learn about different types of poetry, will compose their own poems and keep it all in a journal.

  • Remembering September 11, 2001 -- a day that shook the world as we know it.  In this class, students learn about the events of this day -- through video, news articles, stories and pictures.  The class will then write their own newspaper article, and send cards to American troops in Iraq.
