St. Jerome School is proud to announce that Pablo Iglesias has been selected as a Blue Ribbon Winner in the 14th Annual Students Voices Contest, sponsored by the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence. His entry was selected by hundreds of entries as the most powerful Congratulations!

In November, St. Jerome's 8th grade English class was entered in an essay contest for Illinois council Against Handgun Violence. The winner was Pablo Iglesias. In the essay, they had to write about the effects of gun violence in their neighborhood and how it can be stopped. Pablo will be presented his award on June 3rd at the Pulaski Fine Arts Academy.

In this information packet, you will find instructions for information verification, official award ceremony information for you and Kelly Carrillo, and a letter for the student to deliver to their parents with RSVP information.

The Awards Ceremony will take place at the Chicago Cultural Center; Claudia Cassidy Theater located at 77 East Randolph Street on Friday, May 22, 2009.
